This summer, I participated in my ballet studio's Adult Showcase. I chose to be in two pieces. The first was a version of the Peasant scene from Act 1 of Giselle, staged by James Ady. The second piece was a newly choreographed piece called Zenobia by Chasen Greenwood, music from the movie Avatar: Way of Water as well as original music by Taylor Briggs. It was an incredible experience, learning to dance with a large group of other dancers, getting to know people from class better, and performing in front of an amazing audience of friends and family.
The applause was overwhelming and the camaraderie and joy from the experience was incredible. A video has been compiled from the 2 performances by SMC student Cliff Chen.
