Pandemic

It's been 2 weeks since my company told us first to work from home if you are able to, and then told us that any non-essential employees would have to work from home, with the rest of us locked out. This was the same day that Mayor Eric Garcetti announced the Safer at Home initiative for the entire city forcing everyone, except for a select few industries, to either work from home or shut down.

My work over the last two weeks has been incredibly busy. This coincided with a series of meetings previously planned so they all turned into online meetings, with some back-to-back. There are extra meetings that previously would've been hallway encounters.

My issues are very small compared to what many others are experiencing right now. My neighbours and I have been finding time to get together in our back area, staying 6' away from each other but being in the same physical space with our individual drinks. Yesterday, we met some people from surrounding buildings who were all out on their balconies.

I both want to read and listen to everything I can about this situation and hide from it altogether. I try to imagine a time when we will all be free to move around, see each other, give each other hugs and kisses and shake hands again.
