Lazy Ox Canteen

We had dinner here before going to see NDT. This place, in Little Tokyo, has a casual pubby atmosphere, with wonderful food.  We had some delicious sugar snap peas and roasted cauliflower. We asked that the chef send us out a surprise small plate, which turned out to be beef tongue with polenta. All were delicious. The family style special for the day was a pork porterhouse, which turned out to be a giant piece of perfectly roasted pork with a delicious sauce. The best dessert was the butterscotch pudding-unbelievably rich, caramel-y and creamy. Service here is friendly and quick. We had to get in and out in an hour and they did that without our feeling rushed.
