At the Asian Art Museum

This is a great little museum in San Francisco. My aunt Yvonne (Shen Shen) is a docent there and we went to check out an exhibit on Japanese contemporary fashion presented as sculpture. The clothes are kind of crazy looking if you think of them as clothing, however they are really remarkable as sculpture created out of fabric. Some of them had pleats, some had draping, some had cuts and pleats. The exhibit was conceived by a Japanese artist who had an accompanying exhibit where he showed fossils and ancient artifacts alongside his own assemblages of artifacts with modern items to create something completely new. Both exhibits were really interesting.
