I was in the Bay Area over 4th of July to visit friends and family. It was unbelievably hot on the 4th when Mei and Stephen had a cookout in the backyard. They got out the baby pool, blew it up, added water and a bubble machine, and then came the kids. There's something about kids, a hot summer day and water that just feels like freedom. The next day, I met Shawn and Kyra at the Alameda County Fair and the temps that day made Wednesday feel like autumn!
